Inventors face the same challenges as small business entrepreneurs. Successful inventors must make the transition to business at some point in the commercialization process.  One recommendation for your web page is to advise that inventors have there Idea evaluated for market feasibility.  This makes a lot of sense at an Early, strategic point prior to committing resources (time and money). There is a program at Washington State University called the Innovation Assessment Center.  It has served the SBDC system in Washington, as well as Inventors and entrepreneurs nationwide for more than 12 years. The program Is designed to evaluate market feasibility, and give feedback from (3) Evaluators.  The evaluators are chosen from different points of view Relevant to the idea, and they draw on their expertise to assess  Marketability and provide feedback.  The inventor receives a report, secondary market research relevant to the Product and intended market, and several books on commercialization.  The Fee is $350. The client is then referred to the nearest SBDC where, with report in hand, The commercialization process can be planned with a BDS.
